COVID 19: Should a part fit/ paid for repair have to be rescheduled/ postponed due to Washer George or the customer having to go into self isolation, any money already paid by the customer will not be refunded. The repair will commence after this period has ended.

Freestanding Appliances - £50 callout + parts (NAC callout will vary)

Integrated Appliances - £60 callout + parts (NAC callout will vary)

 

Booking a Repair

When you initially contact Washer George to enquire about a repair, we will check that you are in our covered location and your appliance type is one that we repair. If you meet these criteria, we will quote you the relevant Service Charge for the appliance in question. Once you have agreed to the applicable Service Charge, we will take the required information to successfully book the repair. Once your repair has been booked, we will diarise an appointment with you as soon as possible.

When I attend your property, you are required to ensure that there is a person at the property over the age of 18 at all times, from the start of the repair until me leaving. Somebody will also be required to be there who is able to pay the callout charge.

What is included in my Fixed Service Charge?

The Service Charge that you pay will include callout and all the labour time needed to carry out a thorough diagnostic test or first visit repair. This would stay the same regardless of how long it took to diagnose and repair the appliance, be it 5 minutes or hours. Any parts that might be required to complete a repair are not included in this fee and are paid additionally to the callout charge. A second visit fee may be charged where customers source their own parts elsewhere, however when parts are purchased through Washer George to complete the repair, the second visit to repair the appliance is included in the original service charge.

Service Charges are payable directly to us on the first visit to your property. In the case of rental properties / business properties where the bill payer will not be present, payment will be required at the point of booking. If an Engineer attends and diagnoses a fault which then leads to a repair quotation, the Service Charge is payable whether you decide to proceed with a repair or decide not to. Washer George does not offer free callouts / Diagnosis.

*Please note* In the instance that I attend a repair and there is obviously an existing installation issue or wear and tear in the surrounding environment of your appliance (ie. Previous leaking, water damage/mould, bad installation, loose fittings, etc.) I will notify you of this before I proceed with the work and explain any problems. If you choose to go ahead with the repair, I do not take responsibility for any unavoidable further damages caused as a result of these mentioned issues  

Repair Guarantee

All repairs completed by Washer George come with a 3 Month (90 Day) Parts and labour guarantee, providing that the parts have been provided by Washer George. Should you have provided your own part for the repair, only the labour will be guaranteed, providing that it is a same fault repair. This guarantee is to ensure that the repair has been completed correctly and to allow for a sufficient amount of time for a related same fault to reoccour. Should you need to have Washer George return after a repair, if the fault is a result of what we did on the previous visit, we will rectify any issue and there will be no further charge.

If Washer George attends and finds that the re-visit relates to a new fault or a separate fault that was not reported on the original repair booking, you will be required to pay a Callout Charge of £35. In instances where the Callout Charge is payable but the customer refuses to pay, Washer George may charge the fee to the Debit or Credit Card that was used to pay the initial Service Charge.

Some repairs, however, are excluded from the Repair Guarantee.

The following repairs do not carry a repair guarantee:

  • A repair carried out where a blockage / foreign item has been removed from the appliance

The following components are excluded from the Repair Guarantee:

  • Door parts, such as handles and other fixtures

  • Door seals

  • Cosmetic parts such as facias & trims 

  • Drum lifters

 

Invalidating Your Guarantee

Once Washer George has completed a repair, the repair guarantee is to ensure that the repair has been completed correctly. In instances where the customer claims that the repair has not been effective, then we must have the opportunity to inspect the appliance and if needed, rectify the issue. In the event that a 3rd Party or Independent Engineer has attended, we reserve the right to void any Guarantee Period. We will not reimburse any 3rd Party Service Fees nor refund for any previous repair if we have not had the opportunity to inspect the appliance before the intervention of a 3rd Party.

Spare Parts

To enable a higher chance of a first time fix on the first callout, we carry a selection of commonly used spare parts. Given the vast range of parts for all appliance types and makes/ models, it is impossible for us to carry everything therefore there may be instances where parts will need to be ordered. If parts need to be ordered, you will be advised of the cost and ETA of the spare part/s before agreeing to going ahead with the repair. All spare part orders need to be paid for prior to Washer George placing the part order. Spare parts are non-returnable and non-refundable once fitted unless they are faulty in which case we will replace any faulty part free of charge whilst it’s in the Guarantee Period.

“Fitted part but now also requires”

In instances where Washer George has determined that a part is faulty, all efforts will be made to further investigate and identify any other faulty part on the appliance. In some instances, we might need to rectify one fault to find another, especially where PCB’s (Printed Circuit Boards) are concerned. When a spare part has been identified as faulty and that part is later paid for and replaced, if another part is then identified as faulty, we will quote you for the part in the same way. A part that has been fitted to your appliance is not returnable and non-refundable unless the new part is faulty and / or we have mis-diagnosed the faulty part. In the event of a suspected mis-diagnosis, we will clearly demonstrate to the customer that the original part was faulty and needed replacing.

If a spare part is listed as obsolete or no longer available by either the manufacturer or our authorised suppliers, we will inform you of this and give you an opportunity to source the parts from any other resources if they happen to have some old stock still available. Should you manage to find any obsolete Parts, Washer George will re-attend at no further cost to fit the parts to your appliance and complete the repair. If we have advised you that a part is obsolete and you source your own, should that part not fit, be incorrect or damaged, you will be charged a 2nd, reduced rate Visit fee of £35. Where parts are listed as obsolete or no longer available by the manufacturer or our direct authorised suppliers, the service charge will still need to be paid and will be non-refundable.

Spare Part Prices

Parts that Washer George supplies are sourced either from manufacturers directly or via a third party supplier. All parts are quoted for before you agree to purchase the part from us. Once you have accepted the quote and paid for a spare part order, we do not reimburse any price difference if the same part can be found cheaper online. We will never indicate in any way that the price you pay is the cheapest available so we do not offer a price match on spare parts.

Self Sourced Parts

If you choose to buy your own parts from another supplier that were available from us as quoted, you will need to notify us that you are sourcing your own parts. In instances where a customer supplies their own parts, where Washer George could have provided them, you will be charged £35 for the fit parts visit. All payments for part fit visits must be made at the point of booking.

Self Fitted Parts (parts fitted by customers)

Washer George is  fully trained to repair Domestic Appliances and spare parts that I supply come from either Manufacturers directly or Authorised 3rd Party suppliers meaning that we can guarantee the source and quality of that spare part and the testing we do before and after.
In the event where a customer decides to decline our spare part quote to purchase their own part independently and fit that part themselves to complete a repair to then find that it has not worked or there are further issues, Washer George will no longer proceed with any repair free of charge or as included in the initial Service Charge as we did not supply that part nor did we fit it. We may offer to re-attend to inspect the fitting or part itself however there will be a further Service Charge of £35 payable.

Obscure Brands of appliances

In instances where we attend a repair and it is determined that parts are required, we will do our absolute best to source any spare parts from our Authorised Suppliers. In instances where maufacturers do not offer support for spare part availability to the trade in the UK, we will ask that you contact the retailer where you bought the appliance with a view to sourcing the part/s yourself. We will then return at a later date to fit parts that you have been successful in sourcing.  In instances where neither you or us can identify spare parts needed to complete a repair, the Service Charge is still payable and non-refundable.

Out of Stock Parts

In instances where parts are out of stock with our suppliers so they have been specially ordered, there may be a long delay for these parts. If your repair is affected by parts that are out of stock, you will be advised of the possible delay and given a maximum lead time before agreeing to the continuation of the repair prior to Washer George ordering the parts needed. All spare part orders need to be paid for prior to us placing the part order. We cannot cancel special orders and  they are non-refundable once the order has been placed unless the lead time passes. If any spare part exceeds the lead time and you wish to cancel the order, we will refund in full the cost of the spare part/s. We do not refund any Service Charge paid in this instance.

In instances where parts are out of stock and therefore we cannot guarantee to supply the parts within 28 days, you may source and purchase your own. If you purchase your own parts, we will re-attend at a later date to fit the parts at no extra cost to yourself. Parts supplied by you are not covered under the Repair Guarantee offered by Washer George. It is your responsibility to correctly identify the model of the appliance to the independent parts supplier in order to obtain the correct part/s. We take no responsibility for any parts obtained by customers independently therefore if any part is incorrect or does not fit, the customer will be required to pay a callout charge of £35 for our visit to fit the incorrect part. In instances where the callout charge is payable but the customer refuses to pay, Washer George may charge the fee to the Debit or Credit Card that was used to pay for the initial service charge.

Cancelling your repair

You may at any time cancel your repair and you will not be charged a service charge or you will receive a full refund of any service charge pre paid if the following conditions have been met:

  • You have cancelled the repair before we have attended by calling 07523959695 or emailing us on washergeorge30@gmail.com

Service charges are payable as soon as we attend your property. If we attend and diagnoses a fault which then leads to a repair quotation, the service charge is payable whether you decide to proceed or not. Washer George does not offer free callouts / free estimates.

Privacy Policy

  • Personal Data – We do not share your details with with any 3rd parties that are not directly involved with your specific repair

  • Card Payments – We do not store credit card details nor do we share payment details with any 3rd parties

Refund Policy

If you have cancelled a repair and a refund has been agreed, an immediate refund will be given on to the same Credit or Debit Card that you used to pay for the repair.

Complaints Procedure

In the unlikely event that you wish to make a complaint about your repair, please email your complaint to washergeorge30@gmail.com or text it to 07523959695 and ensure to include your Job reference and appliance details. All complaints need to be via email so there is written evidence what’s being complained about and what the resolution was. Please note that we will be unable to help with any complaint over the telephone as we prefer to do it in a written manner. Any complaint email will be investigated within 24 Hours of receipt.

 

Ammending these Terms & Conditions

I reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time and without notice. Any changes will take immediate effect when posted on the website and it is your responsibility to read these terms each time you place a booking. By booking with me you are in agreement of the latest terms and conditions.
